When Lightning Found Her

Sonia Bloodthorn tapped her fingers on the side of her glass, a thoughtful smile tugging at the corner of her lips. “Ah, I’ve got just the tale for you,” she said, her voice smooth and dangerous, like a silk thread wrapped around a knife. “A love story... but not just any love story. This one’s a force of nature. It hits you like a storm, leaving everything changed, leaving you reborn.”

Cordillera’s translucent form flickered in curiosity, leaning in as if she were waiting for the wind to start picking up. “I’m listening, Queen of Shadows.”

Lysander straightened in his chair, his usual casual air replaced by something far more intent. “Storms, huh? Sounds like my kind of tale.”

“Trust me, Lysander,” Sonia purred, “You’re going to love this one.”

She closed her eyes for a moment, collecting the thoughts that spun in her mind like a whirlwind, then began.

It started in the heart of the Summerland, a city bathed in perpetual warmth, where the sun always shone in golden hues, and the flowers bloomed in a never-ending spring. The realm was full of peace, tranquility, and a certain calm that could lull anyone into complacency. But even in the most serene places, sometimes the air stirs with the promise of a storm.

And that’s where Isolde lived - an immortal, a healer, and a woman whose heart had known many loves. She had walked through endless centuries, felt the rise and fall of empires, but every love she had ever known seemed to flicker out just as quickly as it had flared into life.

She had loved with all her heart, time and time again, but immortality was a cruel thing - people came and went, like waves on the shore, leaving only memories that turned to dust.

So Isolde gave up on love. Oh, she didn’t stop wanting it. She didn’t stop dreaming of it. But she stopped looking for it. She focused on the world around her - on healing, on helping, on guiding others through their own journeys. Her own heart, locked away, was a well guarded, private place.

Then one day, fate threw a curveball.

His name was Vesper, a warrior whose reputation stretched across the world of 4EverMore, an immortal man whose presence could command storms of their own. He was a legend, feared by some, revered by others, but above all, he was known for one thing: his passion

Whether in battle or in life, Vesper lived with the intensity of a thousand suns. His heart never wavered, and yet, he had never found someone worthy of it. He had fought wars, crossed oceans, and faced impossible odds, but when it came to love, the spark had always been... elusive. Every time he thought he had found someone to match him, they slipped through his fingers, as though his fate was not to be tied to anyone.

But he was no fool. He knew his destiny was written in the stars, and one day, he would meet the one who could stand beside him, who could burn as brightly as he did.

And that day... came when he entered the Summerland.

The moment Isolde saw him, it was as if the very air around her shattered. The peaceful serenity of the Summerland seemed to tilt. The sky darkened, the wind picked up, and everything around her blurred as if she were trapped inside a storm.

Vesper stood before her, his tall figure cutting through the warmth of the sunlight. His eyes, dark as midnight, held a challenge. A fire. A flame that burned straight into her soul.

And in that moment, she knew - knew - that the love she had given up on was here, in front of her, blazing as bright and intense as she had always imagined.

But he hadn’t come alone.

Vesper stepped forward, his gaze locking with hers, and for a moment, he couldn’t breathe. It wasn’t just the beauty of her - though, gods, she was beautiful - but something else. Something deeper, something that struck him like the thunderclap of a storm. His heart slammed in his chest. Every muscle in his body tightened.

He knew. He knew that she was the one.

“I’ve waited for you,” he growled, stepping closer, voice low, charged with the kind of intensity that made the world tremble.

Isolde’s heart stuttered in her chest. She had waited for him, too, but never thought she’d find him in this lifetime, not after all this time. And yet, here he was. Standing in front of her, every inch of him calling to her. The storm of emotion that hit her felt almost too much.

“You’ve waited for me?” Her voice was hoarse, as if the simple thought of it had drained her of words. “And what... do you think you’ve found?”

His lips twisted into a half-smile, but it was full of a wickedness she couldn’t resist. “More than I could ever have imagined. And now, I’m here to claim what was always mine.”

The words hung in the air like a warning. And that was when the storm truly began.

Vesper reached for her, his fingers brushing hers, and the world exploded. The winds howled like ancient spirits, the sky crackled with dark energy, and in that single moment, as their hands touched, it felt as though the heavens themselves had opened.

Lightning flashed, thunder roared, and time itself seemed to pause as they collided with each other. The air between them buzzed, electric, like a magnet pulling them closer, and when their lips met, it was like nothing she had ever experienced. It was a violent, chaotic, passionate kiss, one that shook her to her core, that left her breathless, dizzy, as if the storm that raged around them had consumed her entirely.

And in that storm, in the middle of that chaos, they both realized the same thing.

They had finally found each other.

For Isolde and Vesper, love wasn’t a quiet, gentle thing. No, it was loud and wild, a force of nature that collided with everything in its path. It consumed them, changed them, left them breathless and broken and whole all at once. And neither of them would ever be the same again.

They weren’t meant for quiet days in the Summerland, to fade into the background like other immortals. No, they were meant to burn like the brightest star in the sky. And burn they did.

Together, they would shake the very heavens.
