Now don’t go clutching your pearls just yet, darlings—this isn’t that Loki. No capes, no corporate franchises, no fan club conventions (though honestly, he’d probably run one just for the chaos). No, today I’m spilling tea on the real Loki—the Norse god of mischief, magic, and all things maddening.
Born of giants but counted among the gods, Loki was the original chaos cocktail: one part silver tongue, one part wildfire, and a splash of “oh dear gods, what did he do this time?” A shape-shifter, a sorcerer, and a trickster of legendary renown, he could turn into anything—a salmon, a mare, a fly, a cranky old woman… and somehow still be the most fascinating creature in the room.
His magic? Oh honey, it wasn’t just parlor tricks. He could weave illusions that fooled even Odin, slip through shadows like a whisper, and conjure storms with a flick of his fingers. And while the other gods were busy swinging hammers and building halls, Loki was stirring the pot—sometimes literally.
Of course, the tales paint him as a villain—schemer, liar, bringer of Ragnarok—but let’s not forget he also helped the gods… when it suited him. He gifted Odin Sleipnir (long story, very weird), got Thor his hammer back (with some cross-dressing flair), and saved many a divine behind from his own messes. He’s unpredictable, infuriating, and, if I’m being honest… utterly captivating.
And yes, yes—I see that look on your face. Alice, do you like him? Well. Let’s just say there’s a certain glint in his mismatched eyes, a lopsided grin that says “I know something you don’t,” and a deliciously unbothered way he lounges around like he owns every room he walks into. Auburn waves falling just so, that mischievous charm? Mmm. Tempting. But I’m not spilling all that tea. Not yet.
Because while that was his past—the sagas, the myths, the ancient drama—this is now. And here, in the world of 4EverMore, I work with Loki over at The Immortal Gazette. Still a trickster, still maddeningly magical, and still very much Loki. But let’s just say… I keep a close eye on him. For purely professional reasons, of course.
