The Accidental Tea Party of No Plot Whatsoever
“Soooo… who actually brought the story today?”
The enchanted clock struck whatever, because time didn’t matter here. What mattered was that the immortal queens had gathered once again under the glittering chandeliers of the Inkbound Tower…
And literally no one brought a story.
Alice, in her usual chaos-laced perfection, poured the tea and waited.
And waited.
And waited.
Finally, Goldi leaned forward, blinking. “Sooo… is someone gonna start orrrr…”
“I thought you had a story,” Rapunzel said, twisting a lock of stardust-blonde hair around her finger.
Goldi looked personally attacked. “Me? I went first, remember? I was practically the prequel!”
Red snorted. “I thought Snow was going today.”
Snow flared her frosty eyes. “No, no - I went last time! Cinderella hijacked the Quill with her sparkly midnights and now everyone’s confused.”
“Technically,” Cinderella started, adjusting her gown that somehow still shimmered with moonlight, “it was Beauty who went last.”
“She doesn’t count,” Red muttered. “She’s not even here. She's literally mist.”
“She’s always mist,” Rapunzel said.
“Guys,” Wendy said, sipping her espresso like it was spiked with pirate tears, “we don’t have a story, do we?”
A long pause.
Tink crossed her arms. “I have one.”
Everyone groaned.
“Of course you do,” Wendy muttered.
“I mean, I didn’t write it yet,” Tink added quickly. “But like, I could write one. If everyone stopped breathing down my wings about it.”
“You’re literally hovering,” Snow said. “How do we even breathe near you?”
Red flopped dramatically across the divan. “Ugh. We are the most chaotic immortal storytelling queens in all of 4EverMore and we forgot the story. This is why no one takes us seriously.”
Goldi frowned. “That’s not true. We take us seriously.”
“…do we?” Rapunzel asked.
A full beat of silence.
The enchanted tea set tried to slink off the table. Alice casually poured more tea over it to stop the escape.
Then:
“Okay, fine!” Wendy declared, standing. “Let’s just tell a story together. Like - improv.”
Tink snorted. “Oh what, like a group project? Pass.”
“Yeah, group projects are where dreams go to die,” Cinderella said.
Red raised a brow. “Says the one who married a prince and made him do all the work.”
“Um - excuse you, I had to run in glass heels, that was not easy.”
“Girls,” Alice cut in finally, voice silky with sarcasm and tea. “The Quill is getting bored. It may spontaneously start writing fanfiction if you don’t focus.”
“Oh gods,” Wendy said, “we cannot let the Quill go rogue again. Remember that weird mashup story it made with the dragon librarian and the talking corset?”
Everyone shuddered.
Goldi suddenly lit up. “Wait. What if that’s the story? Us. Not having a story.”
Snow blinked. “…You want the story to be about how we have no story?”
Goldi nodded. “Meta. Iconic. Story-ception.”
Wendy snapped her fingers. “Genius. Lazy, but genius.”
Alice grinned and dipped the Quill into inkwell starlight.
“Well then,” she said, “let the Tale of the Forgotten Plot begin…”
