📚 Short Stories From The Immortal Quill – Issue #25
OHHH SNAP - the tea is steeping, the shade is flying, and Alice is clutching her teacup with a dagger hidden in her bustle, just in case.
I Swear He Flirted With Me First
Loki Enters the Ink-Stained Scene (Again)
The inkfire chandelier trembled once more - not from arguments this time, but from the sheer ripple of raw, god-tier aura slinking its way through the corridor. The scent of something ancient, dangerous, and sinfully tempting followed like a forbidden wind.
And then, with a flick of shadow and silk, Loki entered.
Auburn waves tousled like a storm-god who had better things to do but showed up anyway, eyes mismatched - one as gold as a fallen star, the other as cold as forgotten frost. Leather coat, smirk set to ‘devastate,’ and that air of I’ve absolutely been here before and stolen something valuable.
Tink froze mid-rant.
Snow dropped her enchanted apple.
Red blinked once, twice - then tilted her head with dangerous interest.
Even Rapunzel twirled a lock of hair like she might let her tower down just for him.
But before any of them could utter a swoony sigh or a "hey there, Norse daddy," a faint voice echoed from literally nowhere and yet everywhere at once:
“Hands off, witches. I saw him first.”
It was Alice.
She wasn’t in the room. She was, by all accounts, still overdue at her Mad Tea Party studio - probably rearranging her cursed teacups and lecturing a pocketwatch about existential dread—but she had eyes everywhere. And ears. And hexes on auto-deploy.
Loki chuckled, low and dangerous, leaning on the nearest obsidian bookshelf like he was born to break hearts and ancient oaths.
“She’s very territorial, our dear Mad Queen,” he said, not looking up. “But I do enjoy how creative she gets when jealous. Last time, she sent a swarm of ink-bees after a dryad who blinked at me too long.”
Rumple, from the corner: “She deserved it. Everyone knows dryads are thirsty.”
“Hey!” Rapunzel barked, half-laughing, half-outraged.
“Relax, sunshine,” Loki said smoothly. “There’s only one Queen who gets my real secrets. The rest of you just get the performance.”
He looked up then, straight into the nearest mirror - which shimmered with a hidden teacup rune and winked back.
Alice’s voice once more, dry as poisoned sugar:
“You’re late.”
Loki grinned. “You’re always watching, aren’t you?”
“I told you. No matter how far you wander, Trickster... I always find you.”
The mirror fizzled out, leaving a faint scent of Earl Grey and unresolved romantic tension.
Red scoffed. “Ugh. Get a haunted room, you two.”
Tink rolled her eyes so hard, a spark of fae fire hissed out her lashes. “Honestly, he’s not that hot.”
Loki raised a single brow. “Careful, pixie. Jealousy doesn’t suit your wings.”
“Wasn’t jealousy. Was nausea.”
Snow leaned to Goldi and whispered, “She’s so jealous.”
Goldi whispered back, “Right? She’s practically glowing ‘he-ignored-me’ green.”
But Loki? Loki just walked right through their chaos, smiling like he already knew how the chapter ended, dropping a kiss onto the rim of a teacup that wasn’t there a second ago - and vanishing in a ripple of shadow and ink.
Somewhere, distantly, Alice whispered through realms:
“My turn is coming. And he better be on time for once.”
