📚 Short Stories From The Immortal Quill – Issue #20

Oh honey, strap in and grab your teacup -because if Tink just tried to crown herself the Queen of Neverland, then Alice is about to drop-kick her throne off a floating cloud of delusion and replace it with a Mad Tea Table dipped in sass, chaos, and cosmic ink.
Alice (rising slowly, with the grace of a chaos goddess who’s just been dared):
“Oh, my darling dears. I didn’t want to do this. Truly. I was content sipping my starlight-infused jasmine and watching the nonsense spiral like whipped cream in a storm. But if the Quill insists- and Tink insists on rewriting cosmic history - I suppose it’s time I reclaim my ink.
She snaps her fingers. The teacups vanish. The lights flicker. The walls ripple like parchment soaked in magic. A giant quill appears behind her - glowing, pulsing, sentient.
Alice (smiling like the end of time):
“Long before your lands were sketched into bedtime stories, and well before fae queens started warping playgrounds into kingdoms - there existed a place known only as The Library Between Worlds. A place where stories weren’t read. They were born.”
Gasps ripple. Red drops her pastry. Loki leans forward.
Alice:
“And within that infinite archive of ever-changing tomes? I - Alice of the Inkbound Realms - was chosen by the Quill Eternal. Not because I was loud. Or clever. Or devastatingly attractive - though I absolutely am.”
Snow (muttering): “Can confirm.”
Alice continues:
“No… I was chosen because I dared to question the stories. I poked holes in Wonderland, called out the lies, broke the fourth wall, fifth dimension, and sixth protocol of narrative law. I drank the tea that shouldn’t be drunk. I danced on metaphors and turned similes into spells.”
Cinderella (whispering): “Okay she’s casting actual literary witchcraft now.”
Alice’s voice drops lower - syrupy, mesmerizing, like a lullaby laced with arsenic:
“You’ve heard of worlds being written into existence? I wrote myself out of a story that tried to kill me. I rewrote time. I erased death. I once tricked a villain so bad, he forgot he was the villain and started therapy.”
Tink (sputtering): “You’re making this up!”
Alice (twirling the magic quill between her fingers):
“Of course I am, dear. That’s the point. Stories are truth wrapped in lies - and I have the ink.”
She glances at Rapunzel.
“You summoned a daywalker. Powerful. Sassy. Unexpected. But I’ve danced with gods, dined with paradoxes, and once dated a time loop for three years before ghosting it in reverse.”
Loki (fanning himself): “Sweet chaotic stars, marry me.”
Rumple (grinning): “Well, well, someone finally brought a storm to the tea party.”
Alice (curtseys dramatically):
“Thank you, my delightful messes of myth. But now, if you’ll excuse me…”
She pulls out a shimmering tea timer. Turns it over. Reality shifts slightly.
“I must return to The Gazette to… investigate something. Apparently, a certain Norse trickster may be up to something.”
She pauses, eyeing Tink.
“Oh - and Tink darling? You tell stories like a fae with a glitter addiction. You’re cute. I’m catastrophic.”
And with that, she vanishes in a swirl of starlight and snark, leaving behind a faint scent of ink, cinnamon, and cosmic authority.
Silence.
Then Red just whispers:
“…Did she just out-myth herself?”
