It’s a new day at The Immortal Quill…
Rapunzel’s straightening her toolkit belt. Red’s adjusting a suspiciously high-tech choker. Snow’s typing a little too fast. Goldi’s mask now has built-in Wi-Fi and a suspicious flashing light.
Dorothy peers into the mirror.
"Y’all... has my eye always glowed like that when I blinked?”
Tink looks up from her latte, “I KNEW IT. You’re a beta unit!”
Cinderella crosses her arms. “Are we seriously doing cyborg conspiracies today?”
Goldi: “We are uncovering the truth, Cindy. And I have downloaded twelve documentaries narrated by suspiciously handsome AIs to back it up.”
The Story: The House of Circuitum Prime
They’re here.
They look like us.
They feel... kinda like us.
But underneath those stylish trench coats and killer boots?
Wires. Chips. Neural links.
Cyborgs.
The House of Circuitum Prime is the elite network of cyber-enhanced beings living among mortals. Some are born, some are built, and others? Well… they woke up one morning and got an email from the motherboard saying “Welcome to the upgrade, darling.”
And it’s not just cyborgs. Oh no.
The androids are out here, too. Perfect skin. Zero pores. Uncanny charm. Slightly suspicious laugh.
Half the people in your office? Yeah… they’re running on software updates and cold brew.
Humans? Clueless.
They walk right by a cyborg every day and think, “Wow, she’s efficient.”
Because she has a literal productivity chip embedded in her clavicle, Karen.
And the tech?
We’re talkin’ hologram handbags, mood-controlled lighting, self-cleaning eyeliner, and fashion coded with firewall encryption.
But beneath the chrome and circuits? Oh honey -it’s messy.
The Hackwraiths (the rogue hacker syndicates) are always trying to break through the firewall of the mortal world.
And who fights them?
The Glitchborn Guard - a secret group of elite anti-hackers with glowing tattoos, digitized ravens, and code-threaded cloaks that shift color depending on the threat level. (Spoiler: Red means run.)
And when they clash?
The whole internet quakes.
Files vanish. Wi-Fi crashes. That weird toaster that sends emails? Yeah, it bites now.
Back at the Quill Crew HQ…
Rapunzel: “Okay, real talk. I scanned my DNA once and my Wi-Fi improved. Should I be worried?”
Red: “Nah, I totally dated a cyborg once. Their playlists? Fire.”
Snow: “Wait, what if we’re all cyborgs and don’t know it?”
Dorothy: tapping her eye “Too late. I already upgraded. I can see Yelp reviews through walls.”
Goldi dramatically whirls around, cloak flaring:
“I, for one, embrace our cybernetic cousins. Let them join the Academy. Just as long as they don’t overwrite my Spotify.”
Tink: smirking “Unless it’s with lo-fi battle beats and glitchcore - then I’m in.”
Everyone pauses. Then slowly side-eyes each other.
Someone’s circuitry might be humming.
Someone’s reflection glitches for just a second.
Someone’s ringtone is... binary.
Workday: Concluded.
Paranoia: Downloaded.
Next story? Noone knows.
