The Conspirator’s Corkboard
It was still early when the crew stumbled into The Immortal Quill office, the scent of overcaffeinated ambition already wafting through the air.
Most were half-awake, clutching their SLA$HERBUCK$ like lifelines. But one desk? Lit up like a holiday in Crazytown.Goldi.
She was already there.
Wearing... librarian glasses?
The corkboard behind her desk had exploded overnight into a manic web of red string, thumbtacks, and glitter-dusted sticky notes, crisscrossing through pictures, sketches, and an ominously large printout that read:
“They Know. We Know. But Do They Know We Know?”
Tink blinked twice. “Uhhh… Goldi? Everything okay?”
Goldi spun around in her chair with that wide-eyed, manic sparkle only found in wild raccoons and true believers.
“Oh! Good morning, coworkers!” she chirped. “Welcome to the Truth Matrix.”
Rapunzel slowly backed toward the hallway. “Nope. No thank you. Not again.”
Snow raised an eyebrow. “Girl, what in the tin-foil Twilight Zone is going on here?”
Goldi leapt up and began gesturing wildly at the board. “It’s all connected! The SLA$HERBUCK$ logo? Not just a logo. It’s a sigil. Look here - if you turn it upside down and squint during a lunar eclipse - BOOM - it matches the lost sigil of the Frostbitten Oracle of the Northern Pines!”“...Of course it does,” Dorothy muttered, pulling out her notebook just in case this descent into madness produced usable plot material.
“And look at this,” Goldi continued, stabbing a finger at a grainy black-and-white photo that was probably Loki in a hoodie. “This is the trickster mid-latte at 3:03 a.m. Coincidence? Or ritual timing?”
Snow sipped her drink slowly. “You’ve officially reached full Carrie Wall.”
Goldi beamed. “Thank you.”
Just then, Red walked toward the kitchen, muttering, “I need caffeine before I listen to the cult of string theory.”
A minute later: CRUNCH. CRINKLE. FOIL-RUSTLE.
Everyone paused. Heads turned.
Red strutted out of the kitchen wearing a majestic, hand-molded tinfoil hat. Not just any hat. This baby had spikes. It had horns. It had sass.
“Reporting for the Resistance,” she said flatly, deadpan face locked in place.
Tink howled. Rapunzel snorted oat milk through her nose. Dorothy collapsed in tears of laughter, clutching her notepad like it was life support.
Goldi looked delighted. “Oh my gods, yes! That’s the energy! That’s the vision! You understand!”
“I understand I look like a deranged unicorn,” Red said, twirling, “and honestly, I’ve never felt more alive.”
As laughter exploded across the room, Rumple passed by the office window, paused, and blinked twice.
He took a sip of his Chaos Brew and whispered, “Yep. They’ve cracked.”
Then he smiled.
“They’re perfect.”
